​I’ve been a recipient of the Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) fund in where my project was centred on embedding dyslexic practices in a rehearsal room.

The aim of the project was to explore what dyslexic friendly theatre practices can be on offer for neurodiverse actors and how they can be supported within a rehearsal setting. Over the course of 2023/24 I had the opportunity to interview 11 dyslexic creatives from actors, playwrights, producers and artistic directors on their current experience of navigating the industry as a dyslexic. I also worked with Neurodiverse specialist Deborah Groves and 4 actors on a two week intensive exploration.

This DYCP presented an opportunity for me to create practical solutions and opportunities. This continues to be an ongoing practice within my identity as a dyslexic director. For 2025 my intention is to follow on this research achieved to develop new practices for dyslexic actors made by dyslexic actors. ​
